Lego Block Design Challenge Project
This was are class's first challenge project, in which we compete with each other. In this project we were given a bag of Legos, and we had to model them. Each group was given a different bag of Legos, and when all the groups modeled there full back of Legos, those Legos would then be printed out to create a star destroyer, from Star Wars.
In Auto-cad
This a photo of my Lego Project, while its still in Auto-cad. This photo shows how we basically made a rough draft of our Legos, before we went to make them 3D. This is a photo of my circle piece, while it was still being made in Auto-cad. As you can see I have added measurements to my, color coded, digital draft.
In Auto-cad
This is a photo of my second piece in Auto-cad. This piece was more complicated, and challenging to complete. This photo, is showing my second Lego piece in, in its drafting stage.
Completed Model
Here is a photo of a completed Lego piece, as you can see it is finished, and modeled in 3D. This is what we send to the Maker Bot 3D printer, to have it physically modeled. Making this was pretty simple, the hard part is the draft and getting all the measurements correct. After we had the draft done, we exported it to 3Ds Max, and then extruded, Beveled, and crafted are Lego Piece in 3D.
